About Acoustic Highway

NEW We just released our first CD. It's called Gypsy Moon, and the title cut was a cowrite, Rick Calhoun Lyrics, and Joanne Calhoun Music. Also on the CD is a song called Saigon Fall written by Rick that really captures the heart of all vets, but Viet Nam vets in particular. It was written from the heart. Jim's Solo cd Standing & Staring, the title cut is on our cd as well, and it's the Acoustic version, the solo cut is great and has some great electric guitar. Most of the songs on our CD are written, or cowritten by the performer, however there is one exception, Too Late, written by Rick and performed by Joanne.

The CD was produced by Roger Perry, as well as his great talent throughout the CD. Spectacular Lead/bass guitar, and keyboards. The CD has been well received by many so far.

These 3 singer songwriters perform their own unique blend of music, taking turns singing and backing eachother up with acoustic music, percusion and rich harmonies, making their own sound come to life.

Rick Calhoun - Plays guitar and sings lead vocals as well as harmonies.

Joanne Calhoun - Plays some guitar, percussion and sings lead and harmonies.

Jim Rust - Performing songwriter who has just released his new Solo CD, entitled Standing & Staring. Plays guitar, percussion, really well with the Morrocan drum, sings lead as well as harmonies.

 Together they form Acoustic Highway.

This is our first posting, we are excited to finally be on our way, with a CD in hand and some gigs along the way. We are playing at the Equine Experience Sat April 1, in the Gypsy Rose Ranch Booth, for Gypsy Vanner horses. The show will have demos and many booths and goodies related to the ownership and care of horses. We will be selling our CD Gypsy Moon, as well as walking around and seranading the folks.
