About Acoustic Crossover
In February of 2005, Maria Wilson & Molly Rahe joined musical forces to form the Mid -Atlantics power guitar/violin duo, Acoustic Crossover! Since their collaboration, they have done over sixty shows in the Central Pennsylvania and Philadelphia region. The eclectic blend of their original music has been a raving success! Molly and Maria began Acoustic Crossover with two very different playing styles. Molly as the classical violinist and Maria as the rocker. Over the last year both have been able to merge their talents to create their unique combination of music.
On Acoustic Guitar is Maria Wilson. For sixteen of the twenty-nine years as a guitarist, Maria has performed all over the East Coast. With her amazing finger style and rhythmic, percussive attack, Maria has won three finger style guitar scholarships for Duquesne’s Guitar and Bass Workshop. Studying under musicians such as David Cullen and Marcia Angler, she has created and produced five original music solo albums.
On Violin and Voice is Molly Rahe. She has been playing and singing for sixteen years. A graduate of Mansfield University with a BM in music education, Molly has played in several Symphony Orchestras, performed in Concert Choirs, as well as numerous solos and two recitals over the last thirteen years. She has studied under great musicians such as Kenneth Sarch and Adrian Britten on violin, and Youngsuck Kim on voice. With her talents, she graciously received a vocal scholarship for Westminster Choir College Vocal Institute and the Board of Governor’s Scholarship at Mansfield University.
Acoustic Crossover performs everything from classical to rock, “crossing over,” just about any genre of music.
