About 10 Second Aggression
This is the story of Ten Second Aggression. Although the band was formed in November of 2005, the story goes much farther back than that. John Otsuki and Patrick Toney, both having attempted other projects for the previous years formed a band known as On The Contrary with Drew Hanson in may of 2005. With many members coming in and out of the band and many arguments between the members on what the sound was going to be, the band was unstable and though it lasted many months, it began to fade away. But through that band we would come to meet our drummer Blaine Agee. In the early fall/late summer of that year, Blaine and John would come to encounter Rikko Segura and start a friendship. A group of friends were formed between the three of them and David Shaffer. Rikko had also been in a previous band and had recently moved from Miami. Rikko and John found they shared a loving for punk rock and ska and wanted to form a band. The 3 musicians realizing that they had what was necessary to start a band began to seriously consider starting a band. Simultaniously On the contrary began to wind down and the days they met decreased. One November night, Rikko, Blaine, and John met and formed Ten Second Aggression. The winter drove Blaine appart from rikko and john. John and Rikko had many Jam sessions together during that winter and formed a close friendship. The days went by and Patrick showed up a few times. Rikko instantly assimilated the second guitarist into the now quartet. The punk band began to understand each other more and more and their artistic talents merged together. At the time relations with Blaine completely broke down and he left the band. Emma Rubenstein began to play drums for the band. The band was now practicing at the Shaffers house regularly. The first song was finished quickly, called Punk Rock Girl. The 4 began to look toward the future and set their sites on the Venue of swayzes. Before however, they prepared for their first preformance at wheeler. Although they played 4 cover songs and punk rock girl.... to the minimum of their ability, they were glad to have played together(with help from Patrick Stevens and Chris Held on horns). David Shaffer, who sang in many of their songs was officially appart of the band. The band slacked off. The first day of summer however, they were gloriously reunited. Swayzes was on the way and they were completely unprepared. Many of their relationships were tested, and their tempers as well, but all proved well and by the show they had written 6 new songs. The rest is history.
